Early Release

Early Release Incentive Continues

An “early release incentive” implemented in school year 2017-2018 will continue in 2019-2020. Students who meet requirements for early release from the DAEP will earn a reduction of five school days from the original length of their assignment to Alternative Classes.  ALL of the following requirements must be met to receive five days early release from a DAEP assignment:

 

  • 100% Attendance – the student has no absences while assigned to the DAEP. The only exceptions to the attendance requirement are absences confirmed with a note from the Court, a medical doctor, or an extenuating circumstance approved by the Alternative Classes Director and Assistant Directors.
  • No Actionable Disciplinary Referrals while assigned to the DAEP – meaning no disciplinary write ups that result in an Isolated Instruction (ISO) assignment or other disciplinary action. Administrator/student conferences will not disqualify a student from the early release incentive.
  • Academic Participation and Improvement while assigned to the DAEP; the student must show academic growth or progress and have no conduct grades below an “S”.
  • Dress Code Compliance – the student must be in dress code every day and cannot be assigned Isolated Instruction (ISO) as a result of a dress code violation.

 

The Early Release Incentive is reviewed with the Director of Alternative Classes on the student’s first day of assignment to the DAEP.
