Counselors Put Their Heart in Their Work
Tiffanie James and Letrece Catchings are counselors at the Alternative Classes who provide services that students receive at the home campus: orientation, placement and scheduling, pupil appraisal, standardized testing and interpretation, identification of special abilities or needs, parent consultation, counseling, and referrals to outside agencies. In addition, Gay De Villa joined the counseling staff in August 2018 as Educational Diagnostician. Students who receive special support assistance are within her area of counseling.

PSAT, October 10, 2018
College readiness assessments begin in October 2018 with PSAT testing. This readiness assessment is primarily administered to 11th and 10th graders. The test can be a preliminary indicator of college readiness and a good preparation for the SAT. The PSAT is administered throughout the district, including the Alternative Classes, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Parents and Guardians Are Invited to "A Parent's guide to Cyber Safety"
 "A Parent's Guide to Cyber Safety" is a discussion-based presentation that is open to all parents and guardians in Klein ISD. This event is scheduled Monday, October 29, 2018, 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the Klein Multipurpose Center, 7500 FM 2020. Discussion will include social media applications that draw teen or younger users, and hidden applications, live streaming, games, online challenges, dating applications, as well as online dangers (how to spot them, what to watch for, safety settings) and laws related to cyber use.  The event is open to parents and guardians (no admittance to children under the age of 18). The Safe School Institute and Crimestoppers is sponsoring this event.
