Parents and guardians please note that in addition to completion of the annual  (this year, online) “Student Information Update” (registration) for your student, attention should be given to any health or well being matters specific to your student. These could include medication dispensed at school, allergies, or special dietary accommodations. To view documents related to these matters, go to the district’s website and place two words in the search bar: Health Services. Information and documents related to student health and well-being can be found at this location. Documents for your completion on medication dispensed at school, allergies, or special dietary accommodations can be printed and completed. Information on immunizations requirements are also at this location.

Nancy Tullis is the school nurse for both educational programs at the Klein ISD Annex:  Alternative Classes (the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program) and TEP (Therapeutic Education Program). Please contact her to schedule an appointment for transport of medication to be dispensed at school or submission of documents related to your student’s health. Contact Nancy Tullis via phone: (832) 249-4805 or via e-mail: .

If any medication should be dispensed at school, the parent or guardian should complete and sign the Medication Authorization Form (available on the district’s website) and bring the medicine to school in its original pharmacy container. Parent or guardian is responsible for transfer of medications from home and other district campuses; school personnel and students cannot transfer or transport medications. Also, medications are not sent home with students. Students cannot report to school in possession of any medication, prescribed or over the counter. Violation could result in disciplinary action.

Nancy Tullis’s assistant, Clinic Aide Kathryn Loomis, can be contacted during school hours 7:00 am to 2:30 pm at (832) 249-4160 or . Both Nancy and Kathryn value your student’s health and well-being.

About Nancy Tullis, RN and Kathryn Loomis, Clinic Aide

School Nurse Nancy Tullis graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. In 1980, Nancy and her husband moved to Houston from Wisconsin. They have lived in the far northwest area since then and raised three children. When Nancy became the school nurse for the Klein ISD Annex in 1999, she brought a wide range of nursing experience with her. She had worked at a hospital in both pediatrics and nursery and labor and delivery. She had also worked in an allergy clinic and as a home health nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association. As the school nurse at the Annex, Nancy provides care for students enrolled in both the Alternative Classes (the DAEP) and TEP (Therapeutic Education Program) educational programs.

In 2002, Clinic Aide Kathryn Loomis moved to Houston from a very small town in Michigan. She does not miss the cold one bit! As clinic aide, Kathryn co-partners with school nurse Nancy Tullis in the clinic. She became a certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) in August 2018.

Kathryn married her high school sweetheart and both she and her husband are busy working and raising two children. She loves her family, but Kathryn says she "really, really" loves her English Bulldog "Ton" (who may be aptly named)!
